NIV
This is a little different format in which we put this psalm for the purpose of more clearly seeing the main point, His love endures forever. This is again a history lesson of who God is and what he has done concerning his creation. From the beginning of time, it was God we spoke everything into existence. It does not matter what any man has to say about the beginning of the world, or universe, they cannot know it as fact for they were not there. They only have theories. However, what God told Moses about how he did it all is fact, for God not only was there, but he was the one who spoke it all into being. His love endures forever. This must mean that it was his love that caused him to make the heavens, the sun and the moon. It was his love the caused him to spread the waters over the earth. It then was also his love which caused him to form man from the clay and breathe life into him and then to form woman from the man’s side. It was his love which caused him to do all he did for the Israel. First, their going down into Egypt although it was just one family, then after hundreds of years and their numbers were in the millions, he set them free and brought them out of Egypt. That reminds us of the trip Jesus made as an infant. Just one family went into Egypt, but more came out, because through Jesus millions have been set free. Because of God's love he went before Israel and destroyed those who would oppose them. First, he destroyed Pharaoh and his army who would put Israel back in bondage. This again reminds us that because of his love which endures forever, he has and will continue to destroy that which would put us back in bondage. Because Jesus has set us free from the bondage of sin, we have been set free indeed. Once we have been set free, we should not be the ones to put ourselves back in bondage, as Israel wanted to do rather than face what they thought was a hardship on the journey to the Promised Land. Just because the journey may be difficult at times we should not look back to the time of bondage with want in our heart. Because of his love he went before them, he was behind them and all around them. Because of his love he gave them a land he had promised to Abraham and his descendants. His love endured for all time and still endures because his love endures forever. He has promised us a Promised Land as well. He has promised all who believe eternal life in a new city of Jerusalem which is coming down from heaven, because his love endures forever. God has done it all, everything we ever need has been provided for us because his love endures forever. He gives food to every creature, which includes us. He is to be thanked, praised, honored, and reverenced continually within our being for without his enduring love we would be lost forever. But thanks be to God that his love endures forever.
