The System

DEVOTION
GENESIS
THE SYSTEM

Gen 1:14-19
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. 16 God made two great lights — the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning — the fourth day.
NIV

We have already seen God say, “let there be light” and we have determined that light and darkness is the good and evil of which mankind has the choice to pursue. Now we have the earth, the land and the seas and we have all the plant life springing forth from the land, so God creates this great ball of fire that continues to burn and burn generating both light and heat to both make this earth exactly the right temperature for the needs of what he is going to create next. Of course with the limited knowledge of the universe that Moses and his generations had, God did not go into specific detail with him about how the solar system was set in motion. Today we have the knowledge of the motion of the solar system but many still do not know the truth as to how it was set in motion. Some believe in the big bang theory, but then like any other thoughts of man regarding how the solar system was set in motion, this is just a theory. We have the truth available and it is but one word, God. He created all of the universe, as we see Moses calling them the stars that he set in the expanse, space. We know today these stars are other suns, burning planets giving off light and heat and many of them have other planets in orbit around them. Is there other life? Who knows? God. What we do know is that we live here upon an earth he spoke into existence. He created the sun we have for our warmth and our light. He also knew we needed a moon to give us some amount of light in the dark so we would not be in complete darkness in the night. But with his great wisdom he had another purpose for this moon and its gravitational qualities. It was to move the waters, the oceans back and forth giving it motion, which gives it the quality to sustain all the marine life he was about to create. With the combination of the revolution of the earth and the motion of what we now call tides, the waters would be but a stagnate pond that soon would run out of the needed oxygen both the aquatic plant life and all the marine life would need. This again shows us the incredible greatness of God. How could all this perfection just happen without him? Although some have admitted all this might be the result of intelligent design, they are still unable to admit it was God who both designed and created all of it. They cannot bring themselves to even use his name in association with this intelligent design. However we know the truth because we have this record of his design and creation. The fool hardiness of the world is always interesting. How they can put their faith in the words of other men, but not of God is beyond reason. This is especially interesting since they rebut the scriptures using the reasoning they were written by men. They will put their faith in science, as least what other men have discovered using what is referred to as scientific study, but they cannot believe that God created all the science discovers. Many believe science is opposed to God, we either believe one or the other. But the fact is God created everything. He designed the whole of the universe, the preciseness of our solar system to this planet would sustain life perfectly. He even tilted the earth to an exact amount which gives us all the season we have. But he also gives the center portion around what we call the equator a more constant temperature so that the plants he created could continue to absorb the carbon dioxide all year long. But then he also created great evergreen forest, like the one in the tundra of Russia which also absorbs carbon throughout the winter season. All this is proof of God. We have all the proof we could ever need to know he is God. Yet he continues to show us his divine nature in a personal way. He answers our prayers, He heals us, He provides for us and He directs our paths. He enlightens us, He speaks directly to our spirits, and in fact he loves us so much he sent his only son to die on a cross just for us. He has done everything for us. He has sent his Spirit to be with us, to assure us all this is truth. His Spirit bears witness within us of its authenticity and truth. Without God there would be nothing, an empty void, a deep empty nothing. But God did speak and here we are with an earth of land and sea teaming with plant life, ready for what is to come next. What a design, what a system.
