The Only Hope

DEVOTION 1 PETER THE ONLY HOPE 1 Peter 1:17-21 17 Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. NIV Has there been any one every raised from the dead by some god of men other than the almighty God who created Heaven and Earth? Not every recorded for man to read about is what I have to come conclude. Perhaps that is because it has never happened by one of these false gods. Maybe that is because they do not even exist as they are nothing more than gods created by men to deflect their minds, which have been deceived by Satan, from the one and true God. He is the God who raises people from the dead. He raised Jesus as the first born of all who will be raised who believe in him. God knew as he created man, he would create him with the capacity to make up his own mind, to have a choice in the way he would live, free will. God knew man would choose the wrong way. He did not stop him because he already had a plan to bring about a way for his creation to be redeemed through the blood of Jesus Chris. God has always had this plan and His plan will always succeed because is the one true God. The only hope anyone ever will have is to believe in God, the creator of all things, the one Holy True Almighty God, and not some god of their own making. No matter what men may say about their gods, they are not the God of the Bible. He is the God who is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are just a god made by men. What have their gods planned for man? The God we serve is who all need to have faith in. He is the only way, the only hope.
