SECURE
Ps 7:6-9
6 Arise, O LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies.
Awake, my God; decree justice. 7 Let the assembled peoples gather around you. Rule
over them from on high; 8 let the LORD judge the peoples. Judge me, O LORD,
according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High. 9 O
righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of
the wicked and make the righteous secure.
NIV
How long will God allow Satan to continue to attack his people, how
long will he permit Satan to send his legend of demons against us? The Psalmist
makes is sound as if God is asleep, asking him to awake, but we know God is not
asleep, he keeps watch over us. We live under the shadow of his wing. There
will be a day in which God will degree justice upon the enemy of our soul. We
are his assembled people, we have gathered ourselves to him, seeking refuge
under his protection. We have given him or submitted ourselves to his rule from
on high, making him our Sovereign Lord. He will judge every person according to
their deeds. This has been a point of contention among believers for some time.
There is the school of thought that he judges us by how many good or bad deeds
we have done. That school teaches false doctrine. We have already been judged
holy and blameless in his sight, but his own words. We are his sheep and will
appear in his right side and given entrance into his rest. Those who have
continued to refuse Jesus as Lord and Savior will appear on his left side as
goats and will be cast into the lake of burning sulfur. We have been judged as righteous
because we are in Christ and he is our righteousness. Once again the day of the
Lord will be at hand in some time in the future. Whether that is a supernatural
event the whole world will witness or a one on one experience the moment we
step from this life into the eternal presence of our Lord, matters not. But
there will be a day all the violence of the wicked will be finished. It will
end for we know Satan will be cast into that lake of burner sulfur and we will
be secure in the new paradise of God. Yet we have to live out our allotted days
here with the enemy at large. Still we are also under the protection of our
Lord, we are still secure.
