PSALMS
NEW MORNING
Ps 5:1-3
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing. 2 Listen to my cry
for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. 3 In the morning, O LORD, you
hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in
expectation.
NIV
There is nothing like the beauty of the early morning as slumber gives
way and the awareness of laying still before the Lord. It need not be a time of
lengthy or wordy prayers, including every need or a list of all those we know
and their needs, but simply a time of reflection on the greatness of our Lord.
How he has blessed us and the beauty of our life, the life he has given us. But
more importantly then our words, is his still small voice as he speaks a new
day into our being. Certainly he wants to hear our requests, but should we also
not want to hear his answer. We lay in expectation of what he will bring to us.
First in his thoughts for us, second any particular new truth he wants to
reveal to us. If we are not waking each morning with expectation of what God is
going to do in our lives, we miss out on so much, we live in the realm of mere existence
rather than in his blessings. He is our King and God and we are his people, but
also his children. He desires the best for us, as any father would for his children.
He listens to our voice, the cry of our heart, but that cry should be for his
voice. To hear him speak life into our being is the very best we could ever
desire. To hear him reveal truths, to speak of his mercies each day. Oh how wonderful
to awake to his voice. To know he is there, loving on us, gives us warmth in
our heart. We arise with expectations of how the day will unfold as he guides
us, and gives us opportunities to be to be his children doing his will. Praise
him for each new morning.

Hello Servant of the Lord and great grand father. I am a PASTOR from Mumbai, India. I am glad to stop by your profile on the blogger and the blog post. I am also blessed and feel privileged and honored to get connected with you as well as know you and about your love for the Lord and His Word. The Rich Westerwelle devotion on Psalm 5:1-3 is very encouraging and heart warming exhortation. I am blessed by it. I love getting connected with the people of God around the globe to be encouraged, strengthened and praying for one another. I have been in the Pastoral ministry for last 39 yrs in this great city of Mumbai a city with a great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reachout to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the brokenhearted. We also encourage young and the adults from the west to come to Mumbai to work with us during their vacation time. We would love to have your young grand or great grand children come to Mumbai to work with us during their vacation time. I am sure you will have a life changing experience. Looking forward to hear from you very soon. God's richest blessings on you, your family and friends also wishing you a blessed and a Christ centered rest of the year 2018.
