Thank you Lord

THANK YOU LORD
Ps 116
I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. 2 Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me;I was overcome by trouble and sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of the LORD:"O LORD, save me!"
5 The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. 6 The LORD protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me.
7 Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
8 For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, 9 that I may walk before the LORD in the land of the living. 10 I believed; therefore I said, "I am greatly afflicted." 11 And in my dismay I said," All men are liars."
12 How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me? 13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. 14 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. 16 O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant; you have freed me from my chains.
17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. 18 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people, 19 in the courts of the house of the LORD — in your midst, O Jerusalem.
Praise the LORD.

This is our story, our life before salvation, our life in the darkness that leads to death. Somehow through the power of the Holy Spirit, he broke through that hardness that encircled our heart and broke the chains that had shackled it to death. Our heart was entangled with cords of death, but the Lord freed us. We cried out, at least in a sense, and he heard our voice and answered in the most miraculous ways. He was indeed compassionate for we were not just a chief of sinners, we did not believe he was real. But then there he was, and in all his glory, showing mercy, compassion and miracles. Our heart was turned and freed from its pain. Now it is full of light. There was such gloom and doom, but God changed everything. What was complex became simple. The complexity of life is overwhelming, trying to live in a darkness by ignoring it, pretending to be something we were not. We stumbled around trying to see, but our eyes were filled with tears. God delivered us from that and brought us into the land of the living. There is nothing we can do to repay him for his love toward us. All we can do is be his servant all the rest of our days. Whatever being a servant means. Whatever he wants from our lives is all good. If we are to sweep floors, wash windows, preach the word, stay here, move there, work forever, take some classes, learn more, teach his word, help somebody or feed them, we are ready to do his will. Whatever he has for us, we will obey or at least try our best to. What was a life devoted to our own will, is now one devoted to his will. We will always be thankful to our Lord for his deliverance. We will always call on his name, for there is no one like him. Praise the name of the Lord. Thank you Jesus. We cannot even image what our life would have been if you did not come into our life. We are convinced we would already be dead, and lost forever. But you did and we no longer face death and darkness, for we live in your light and will do so forever and ever, for all of eternity. Thank you Lord!
