Complaint

COMPLAINT
Ps 64
64:1 For the director of music. A psalm of David.

Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy. 2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from that noisy crowd of evildoers.
3 They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows. 4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent man; they shoot at him suddenly, without fear.
5 They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, "Who will see them?" 6 They plot injustice and say," We have devised a perfect plan!" Surely the mind and heart of man are cunning.
7 But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be struck down. 8 He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9 All mankind will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done. 10 Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; let all the upright in heart praise him!
NIV

It is alright to complain to God about a situation we are in at the moment. That does not affect our relationship, in fact it might enhance it. When we consider all the words about the evil doers, the noisy crowd of evil doers it is evident they are not complaining to God. They are so engrossed in plotting together to accomplish their own agenda, they don’t even have thoughts about God. They have the idea their plans are perfect. They have no idea how foolish their plans are because they have not consulted the throne of wisdom. The heart of man is cunning, there is no question about that. But that cunningness is useless against the wisdom of God. Why would we want to follow a cunning heart when we can follow the wisdom of God? Therefore when we face some difficult situation, a time when things look bleak, we can either devise some plan to escape on our own, or we can complain to God. We know it is best to take refuge in the Lord, to find all the answers to life and death in the word of the Lord. He brings us wisdom and understanding, while the heart of evil doers brings chaos. Why would we ask advice from a heart that is not connected to God? They will be shot with arrows, they will be suddenly struck down. Their own words, their plans will be used against them to bring them to ruin. When man plots and plans on his own, giving himself advice and praise for it, it is arrogant and foolish for God alone has the wisdom man needs to survive. Someday all mankind will fear him. Someday when the final judgement occurs and everyone, whether then believe in him or not will stand or bow before him and will know that he is God. We who already know, need not ponder on what he has done, for he has told us, and proved to us all that he has done and is doing in our lives. But the evildoers will ponder, for they will now be able to reflect on their mistake, but not for long for in a flash they will be judged according to what they have done, and they will be cast out into the darkness, that which has no form, the void, chaos, the lake of burning sulfur. We who know God already, who he calls the righteous will rejoice as we are ushered into his rest, his eternal presence. Praise God we can complain to him rather than to man. Man cannot solve our problem, but God can and he will. So if we need; to complain to God for he is there.
