Ps 72:15-20

15 Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given him.  May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long. 16 Let grain abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. Let its fruit flourish like Lebanon; let it thrive like the grass of the field. 17 May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. All nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed. 18 Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. 19 Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.
20 This concludes the prayers of David son of Jesse.
NIV

Again we can see this is a prayer of David over his son Solomon, yet it is also this prophetic song about Christ. We know Solomon lived a long life and was given gold by the Queen of Sheba, but it is doubtful the people prayed for him and blessed him all day along. However that is true of Jesus. The sun never sets on people who pray for Jesus and bless him all day long. It does sound a little weird that we should pray for Jesus. Most of us would be praying to Jesus so he will answer our prayer about some need in our life. It seems it is always about us, what we want, what we need, what we have to have and have it now. Our spiritual life seems to be centered around us rather than on Jesus. Although the land of Israel was and still is a fertile land, the valleys and then hills are filled with grain that sway in the breeze, and the fruit and grass. This also speaks of the church, the people of God. It speaks of the kingdom of God abounding in the land or world, and the wheat or grain is like the number of believers or spiritual descendants of Abraham, more than all the grain in the field or sand on the beach, or stars in the sky. The fruit of the Spirit flourish throughout the believers and we are clothe even more then grass in the field. The Name of Jesus will endure forever and it will continue as long as the sun. It is for certain all nations will not be blessed because of Solomon, but they absolutely will because of Jesus, that is as long as they do not reject him. Yet in the end every knee, every nation will bow before him and call him blessed. Some might think that some men can do great things, but God and God alone can do marvelous deeds. Who can raise the dead? Only God! Who can cause the sun to shine? Only God! Who can cause the earth to orbit the sun perfectly and at just the right angle to cause the seasons? Only God! Who can cause a hurricane, tornado, flood, or any part of the weather? Only God, not matter what some men say. Who can save us? Only God! Who can give us eternal life? Only God! How wonderful are his marvelous deeds. We will praise him, praise his glorious name forever and ever and we are part of his glory that fills the whole earth. In all that he created, he created us in his image, we are his crowning glory. Let us live to glorify him.
