PROPHESIES AND FULFILLMENTS CONCERNING CHRIST
WALKING AND LEAPING
Isa 35: 1-10
The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will
rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom; it will
rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the
splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the
splendor of our God. 3 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give
way; 4 say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God
will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to
save you." 5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the
deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue
shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the
desert. 7 The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling
springs .In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will
grow. 8 And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The
unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked
fools will not go about on it. 9 No
lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it; they will not be
found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, 10 and the ransomed of the
LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown
their heads .Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will
flee away.
NIV
Although we are told it is verses 4-6 which are the ones which define Jesus
as the healer, and Savior, do miracles, the whole chapter speaks directly about
Jesus. Let us have the fulfillment of this first then we will see what happens.
Matt 9:30-31
30 and their sight was restored.
Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this."
NIV
Matt 11:4-5
4 Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and
see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are
cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the
poor.
NIV
Matt 12:22-23
22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute,
and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.
NIV
And we could go on and an on with multiple verses where Jesus did all
those things spoken about in Isaiah. But first we should understand this vengeance
of God is not against man, but against death. He comes to give us life, he
comes with a divine act to save us from the penalty of death. Yes, Jesus did
all the things, in the physical sense. He healed the lame, he gave sight to the
blind and he gave voice to the mute. Water gushed forth, he brought streams of
living water to those living in the wilderness of this world. A wilderness
defined as life without or outside the paradise of God. But let us see this
truth in the spiritual sense. We once lived in that wilderness, but Jesus
opened our eyes and we were and are able to see the truth. Jesus opened our
ears and we were and are able to hear his voice. We were living as a cripple,
lame, unable to walk the path of righteousness, but Jesus being our
righteousness have given strength to our legs and a light onto our feet so that
we can walk in the way of Holiness. That is we are not perfect beings, but we
have been declared by God as holy and blameless in his sight, therefor we walk
in the way of holiness, his way. The wicked will not walk on that path, they
are the foolish. But we will, Jesus has healed us and saved us and has done a
great, the greatest of all miracles, he has changed our heart from one of stone
to one of flesh. He brought us salvation, no greater miracle has ever been
done. Notice that no beast will be on the path with us. That speaks directly to
the beast in the revelation given to John. The great beast, the old serpent,
the Devil himself cannot walk upon our path, he cannot journey with us. The
best he can do is try to make enough noise out there in the wilderness, off the
path, in order to get our attention and divert us off the path, the way of and
to God. But Jesus is not just walking beside us, he is walking within us and
the beast has already been defeated. Let us leave him in the wilderness, and
listen only to the voice of our Lord, our Shepard. We have that spring of
living water bubbling up from within us. Our mouths can now rejoice and we have
already in a sense entered Zion with singing in our hearts and on our tongues.
Everlasting joy has already crowned our heads, our minds, for we are in Christ.
Gladness and joy overtake us, we have no sorrow no tears, it has fled from us.
We no longer wander aimlessly throughout the wilderness, we have crossed over
the Jordan into the Promised Land. Let us leap for joy.
Acts 3:8
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the
temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
KJV
We are walking and leaping and have entered his courts and praising
God.
