RESIST

Prov 28:4
4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them.
NIV

We could, once again, see this in a worldly sense as well as a spiritual sense. First if we just considered the law of men and how some are lawbreakers, such as exceeding the speed limit, we could see the truth here. Those who habitually exceed the speed limit are most likely also to talk negatively about too much government intervention in the private lives of the people. It may even be on a more subconscious level then open opposition to the speed limit. Yet, those who drive with everyone else who is speeding. simple speed as well, because everyone is speeding. This is, in essence, praising those who oppose the law. But nevertheless they do not hide their opposition well. This might well apply to many of the laws of the land. Parking where they such not, cheating on income taxes, just to name a few. They think it is alright and praise those others who think the same way they do. But this proverb most likely deals with the law of the Lord.

Rom 1:28-32
28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
NIV

People that hate the law of God encourage and praise those who believe the same way they do. We see this on social media all the time. Those who confess the ways of progressiveness, or socialism elect officials which preach those principles. On the other hand those who confess conservatism elect and praise those officials who preach those principles. It is human nature to want to have their world views promoted. This proverb speaks about the views of men regarding the law of God. Those who profess a distain for God and his standards of living, basically by faith, seek out and give credence to those who do not want anything to do with God and his plan for their lives. But as much and as many who disrespect God, we who believe will resist their lies. Those who have a distain for God oppose the whole idea of intelligent design, a more politically correct way of saying creation, but are in favor of evolution. They state lies as those they are fact. This holds true of the so called climate change advocates. They state lie after lie until people believe their lies as fact. Most of this stems from a hatred for God. They oppose him and his power over creation. But there is nothing any of them can say or attempt to prove, although not having any proof, that we would believe their ideas. The truth is all their words are based on theory, not on actual established proof. The main reason we will always resist their ideas is because we base our lives on the law of God. This means we believe God, we trust God, and we believe all of his word, for every word of scripture is God-breathed. It is not written from the mind of man, but from the Spirit of God who inspired men to pen the words. Even some believers have been deceived by those who oppose God. This can be seen when believers say that Paul said or Matthew says or that James makes this point. None of those men wrote anything that was not breathed by God. In all reality we need to know that God inspired Paul to write this or that. God directed us to do something through his inspiring James to write this or that. Nothing which has been written by the mind of man can contain the truth that which has been breathed by God. So then if people do not believe God inspired every word, they do not believe God and therefore they oppose him and praise those who also oppose him. But we will endure to the end. We will always believe in the law of God, the truth of God, the inspired word of God. We will always believe we are saved by faith and faith alone. We will always believe it is because of Jesus and not Jesus plus something. We will resist all who do not believe.
