The same

THE SAME

Prov 22:2
2 Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.
NIV

It matters not if we are rich or poor, as we are all common in the sight of God. Yet there is something to be said about the importance of each the rich and the poor. In the class considered the poor we would find the working people of the world. They labor for their sustenance, but also produce all the goods the rich so eagerly and abundantly consume. Without the labor of the workers, the poor, the rich would have to labor themselves. The rich on the other hand are the employers of the poor. They also are the kings, as it were of the world and as government is an establishment of God, he has made the rich in order to support the labor of the poor. There is a co-dependency between these two, as it should be. This is just as the Body of Christ should function. None of us are islands onto ourselves. We should all depend on each other to do our part both in the Body of Christ and in the society we live in. This would then eliminate jealously and envy. We, the labor force, depend on those who pay us to provide our jobs, so we can both earn our own needs, as well as produce the needs of all men. Why would we envy them? God has ordained some to be rich and some to be poor. We think we have our plans for life, but in all reality God is the one who orders our footsteps or our path in life. It may be true some men climb and claw their way to the top. Some, it seems just are born with the ability to produce great wealth or have the gift of leadership. Some of us, no matter how hard we try never climb above a certain level in life and work until we drop. None of that matters as long as we know the Lord Jesus as our Savior. Both the rich and the poor have that one thing in common. The final destination of both are in their own hands. They both have the choice to accept Jesus or reject him. This again should give us many reasons not to have any strife between us. We are all humankind and subject to both the grace and the justice of God. It has been said that every man puts his pants on the same way. There is no difference in our humanity. We should see each other in that view, both in need of a Savior. God has made all mankind, the rich and the poor. God ordained both can receive his grace or his justice. The choice is up to each the rich and the poor. We are both the same.
