Made Perfect

 MADE PERFECT
Heb 7:26-28
26 Such a high priest meets our need — one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. 27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. 28 For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
NIV

There is nothing else in this world or the one to come that we need, except Jesus. It is obvious there is not one of us who, if we lived under the law, would not have to bring sacrifices for our sin. But we do not live under the law, but under grace and in so if we live in sin the wages for that is death. That doesn’t sound much like grace, does it? Yet that is exactly what it is, for right here, right now, we see that Jesus paid it all. He is our eternal high priest, who surely not has even had to sacrifice for his own sin, for he is truly without any. He is pure, holy, He is God. God showed through the law, not one man could ever be holy enough to be saved, that under the law all men were doomed to destruction, subject to His wrath. But because of His love for His creation, His grace is greater than His wrath. We are saved because of Jesus, because He paid our debt. But that is not finished because we continually need Jesus. It is inconceivable to think we ever attain freedom from all sin. If we did, then we would not need Jesus. Yet there are some who believe they can follow the rules and regulations, of both God and men completely. How foolish is that, just believing that alone is spiritual pride which is sin. We need Jesus every moment of every day. He is the only one who is perfect, and in Him, as far as God is concerned we are perfect. Even in our weakest state, if we have turned our live over to Jesus, we are made perfect in the eyes of God. It sounds crazy, that we can still have sin and be made perfect, but that is what it is. Jesus is our high priest, who offered himself for us. That is the ultimate gift, the ultimate sacrifice, with no need for anything more. It is difficult to think we are perfect, in the eyes of God, but He has declared us to be so. Praise His Holy Name! Thank you for sending your Son for us. Thank you for making us perfect.
