Forever

DEVOTION 2 JOHN FOREVER 2 John 1-2 1:1 The elder, To the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in the truth — and not I only, but also all who know the truth— 2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever: NIV Well considering this letter it to the chosen lady, us men need be concerned with what this has to say, right? Yet, what about this truth and the knowing of it, is there something within that truth we all should pay attention to? If all who know the truth would lead us to believe some do not know the truth. What exactly is this truth? If it is the same truth that we all believe, why are there so many different beliefs, different denominations? If the truth lives in us and is with us forever, then we all should have the same basic faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We all should know that he is the one and only Son of God and came specifically to die on the cross for our sin. We all should know that he not only died but was buried than rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God making intercession for us even now. What else is there about the truth that matters? Oh yes, we not only need to know it, but we need to accept it as the truth. It has been said that the difference between knowing and accepting is but the eighteen inches from our brain to our heart. People say that Jesus is the truth, if fact he said he was the truth, the light and the way, yet Jesus not live within us in the sense of being inside of us as he is at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. But the Spirit dwells with us, and the idea, concept, the truth about Jesus lives within out being. We are inspired by him, by his truth, to live in a manner which is worthy of our calling. It is because of this truth we hold ourselves to a standard of trusting God for all our needs. It is because we know and live within this truth we acknowledge out failures to comply one hundred percent with it, and seek his forgiveness and accept his grace and forgiveness. We are the people of God, we are the people of the light, we are the people of the way, and of the truth. Instead of asking God to help us, we should know he already has. He sent us the truth and it will be with us forever.
